Applications are invited on purely contract basis for a period of eighteen months from persons having Graduate/Post-Graduate Degree in Modern India History from a recognized university of India for undertaking specific work of preparation and data entry of the subject of file/records of Gujarati language for making reference media of Records kept in Record Centre, National Archives of India, 10-A Jhalana Institutional Area. Jhalana Dungri, Jaipur-4. The persons who have passed One Year Diploma Course in Archival Studies from School of Archival Studies, National Archives of India, New Delhi and having the desired language knowledge may also apply for the aforesaid work. Knowledge of old Gujarati language (both reading and writing) is essential as most of the records are in Gujarati language.  Sufficient knowledge of computer is essential.  Good command of English language is desirable.

The engaged persons will be paid a consolidated amount of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand) only per month.  The selection of the candidates will be made on the basis of written test and interview which will be held at National Archives of India, New Delhi/National Archives of India, Record Centre, Jaipur.  No Traveling Allowance will be paid for attending the above written test/interview.

Application in the prescribed format duly filled in all respects along with attested copies of educational/technical qualification should be sent to the Director General, National Archives of India, Janpath, New Delhi-110001 within 21 days from the date of publication of this advertisement.  The persons who have already applied for this project in response to our advertisement in the Employment News dated 31.10.2009 to 6.11.2009 need not apply again.

Terms and Conditions

(For contractual appointment)

1. The services are purely on contractual basis for a period of eighteen months from _____2009 to _______2010.
2. The applicant should possess Graduate/Post-Graduate Degree in Modern Indian History from a recognized university of India.  However, preference will be given to persons who have passed One Year Diploma in Archival Studies from School of Archival Studies, National Archives of India, New Delhi.  Knowledge of old Gujarati language (both reading and writing) and sufficient knowledge of computer is essential.  Good command of English language is desirable.
3. The persons will be paid a consolidated amount of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand only) per month.
4. The person will be required to undertake specific work of preparation and data entry  of Reference Media of the subject of file/records in Gujarati/English language relating to  Crown Representative Records kept in Record Centre, National Archives of India, 10 A, Jhalana Institutional Area, Jhalana Dungri, Jaipur-4 both manually and on computer.
5. He/she will be required to achieve the targets fixed/assigned.
6. The services can be terminated at any time if the performance is found unsatisfactory.
7. During the contract period no leave will be allowed and salary deducted on pro-rata basis if absent on medical grounds.
8. If absent without intimation for more than 5 days, the contract will be terminated without any further notice.
9. In case the person wants to withdraw from the assignment he/she will have to inform one month in advance.
10. He/she will take proper care while handling the said records.
